Painting workshop with artist Lara Bowen

Lara Bowen describes herself as a “lover of paint, light and colour” and if you feel the same, you will absolutely love this day of creativity.

Lara’s inspiration for her circular paintings came from childhood memories of lying in the garden looking through a cardboard tube at the sunlight through the leaves, gorgeous colours, negative space and circular composition.

This workshop will encourage you to look closely at the shapes of both cut flowers and plants in the garden, through a viewfinder and with your phone camera and interpret them in inks and paints in a loose and semi-abstract style.  

Lara will guide you through every step of creating a beautiful circular painting on kadhi paper. 

Hosted in our home-gallery space and garden (come dressed for the weather as we will be going outside to look, explore and sketch the plant shapes).

Cost: £140 per person including all materials, tea, homemade cake, a salad lunch and a glass of fizz.

Please bring an apron and your phone for taking photos, plus any favourite paints or brushes.
