Sales, Delivery and Returns
Whether you buy a large painting or a small ceramic mug, either from our home-gallery during an exhibition or after seeing something on our website, or investing in a bespoke commission, we want you to be happy with your purchase and the experience.
If you make a purchase at an exhibition or event of a small item such as ceramic tableware or a piece of jewellery for example, it will probably be possible for you to take it away with you there and then. If you purchase a painting, sculpture or larger artwork we will usually ask that you leave the piece with us until the end of the exhibition. We will then carefully wrap the work and contact you about delivery or collection soon after the exhibition has ended. Either way we will discuss this with you at the time of your purchase and we will try to accommodate your wishes whilst also ensuring that the exhibition looks complete for the benefit of the artists and other visitors.
We understand that buying a painting can be a big decision and we can often arrange for you to borrow an artwork to try out at home. Please talk to us to learn more about this service.
At exhibitions and events we take payments by card or cash.
We do not offer returns on items that you have purchased after seeing them at an exhibition or event where you have subsequently changed your mind, although we are happy to offer an exchange or credit note. Please note that for hygiene reasons, earrings are not eligible for return. This does not affect your statutory rights.
If you buy from Magpie following a direct enquiry, delivery will calculated and the costs advised to you depending on the size, weight and value of the artwork. For direct sales we take payment by card or bank transfer. In this situation, where you have not seen the artwork up close before buying, we are happy to offer at 14 day period for returns (delivery at your cost) and will make a refund provided the item is returned to us in perfect condition.
