Fiona Pearce
Fiona Pearce studied Art at what was then known as the West Surrey College of Art and Design in Farnham Surrey, specialising in typography. Fiona now paints from her studio in Hampshire.
Working mainly in acrylics, Fiona applies layers with a brush or a credit card. Many of her pieces are designed initially on an iPad focusing on the palette and the composition, which she then translates on to canvas by hand.
Fiona’s work is inspired by the beautiful countryside of Surrey and Hampshire where she walks daily with her dog, but it can also come from just driving along in the car, or closing her eyes and letting her imagination run wild.
Fiona says” My love of colours, shapes and the use of space on the canvas is what excites me the most about painting. Ultimately, my goal is to make my art come alive, using colours that bring my energy on to the canvas.”
A small selection of Fiona’s paintings are currently on show at The Barley Mow pub in The Sands. If you would like to know more about any of these, or other work by Fiona, please do get in touch.
